Over the summer holidays, YMCA Teesdale, with thanks to funding from Teesdale Action Partnership, provided 3 sets of activity and snack packs for 40 children and young people each fortnight of the summer holidays to help beat boredom and encourage children in the local area to get creative.
These packs had key 3 focuses – mindfulness creativity, physical activity and healthy eating, providing recipients with healthy snacks and activities that were safe to do during the Covid19 pandemic.
The packs complimented the same service provided by YMCA Teesdale in May half term, where children and young people were given seed packs and the starter kits for growing them. It’s fantastic seeing how these plants have grown over the summer and watching the families reap the rewards of this now.
The activity packs have been very well received by all the young people that tried them and they thoroughly enjoyed completing the activities at home.
